Joel is a retired military and state worker from Salem, Oregon. At the age of 73, he experienced DRESS Syndrome after being prescribed medications for persistent sinus infections. Despite the challenging ordeal, Joel made a remarkable recovery and considers himself fortunate to have received a prompt diagnosis and to have avoided some of the long-term complications associated with DRESS.

 

Since his experience, Joel has become an expert on the condition and actively works to educate medical providers about DRESS. He is dedicated to raising awareness about the drugs that can cause DRESS and advocates for fellow patients, drawing from his firsthand knowledge to provide support and guidance. Joel's journey has turned him into a passionate advocate and for those impacted by DRESS.
